He’nan
He’nan Province, located in the middle east part of China and the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, is called “Zhong Yuan” (Central Plain) and “Zhong Zhou” (Central Region) because it is situated in the nine divisions of China. Its provincial capital, Zhengzhou City, is a road traffic hub in China.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in He’nan Province
1.No.1 grain production province. He’nan has the highest output of the main agricultural products such as grain, cotton, oilseed, meat, etc. in China.
2.An emerging industry province. The industry in He’nan possesses 39 sectors of national economic trade. Key sectors include food, beverage, mechanics, power, building materials, metallurgy, chemical engineering, coal, oil, natural gas, tobacco, etc.
3.The city cluster in the central plain presents a powerful development trend. The core area of the city cluster in the central plain is being constructed rapidly, and the integration of Zhengzhou and Kaifeng are making material progress. With completion of construction of Zhengzhou-Kaifeng Expressway and its application, Zhengzhou-Kaifeng industrial belt planning was constructed in an orderly way.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in He’nan Province:The non-public economy has developed vigorously and has a dominant position in the two key areas of the scale-sized industry and town investment. By 2006, the non-public economic scaled-sized industry enterprises in He’nan Province realized an increase amounting to RMB314,329,000,000, accounting for 57.8% of the industry above the scale, realized main operating revenues totaling RMB1,092,341,000,000, an increase of 46.7%, and profited RMB135,913,000,000, an increase of 87.8%. Nongovernmental investment in the town investment was RMB429,951,000,000, increasing by 63.6% to 65.1% and became the dominant force contributing to the rapid growth of the town investment.
