Hainan
Hainan, which is called “Qiong” for short, is located in the southernmost part of China, connects Guangdong by Qiongzhou Strait to the north, adjoins the Beibu Gulf to the west and opposite Vientnam, faces Taiwan across the South Sea in the northeast, and extends to the South Sea and neighbors the Philippines, Brunei and Malaysia to the southeast and south.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Hainan Province:
1.Rich underground resources such as malachite ironstone, Yangjiaoling crystal, etc. Almost all of the tropical crops grow here, and it abounds in rubber, coffee, cacao, cocoanut, pinang, black pepper, etc.
2.Abundant tourist resources. It is called “Eastern Hawaii” in China. There are 72 natural reserves, including 5 national natural reserves and 22 provincial natural reserves. And there is one historical and cultural city in Hainan.
1.Plentiful plants and southern medicine resources. There are various species of plants that grow quickly in Hainan. It is the native land of tropical rain forest and tropical monsoon forest.
Hainan Province: By 2005, there were 274,400 individual proprietors, including 20,100 from the secondary industry and 254,300 from the tertiary industry. The individual proprietors were mainly distributed in the manufacturing industry (2,100, making up 6.4%), wholesale and retailing industry (6,400, making up 19.5%), education industry (4,500, making up 13.7%), public management and social organization (7,700, making up 23.4%), accounting for 62.9% of the active industry units.
