Guizhou
Guizhou, which is called “Qian” or “Gui” for short, is located in the southeast part of Southwest China, neighbors Hu’nan to the east and Guangxi to the south, and connects Yunnan to the west and Sichuan and Chongqing to the north. It is a province with beautiful mountains, pleasant weather, multiple nations, abundant resources and tremendous development potential.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Guizhou Province:
1. has abundant natural resources and extremely obvious resource advantages. It is richly endowed with energy resources, minerals, biological and tourist resources.
2. is rich in energy resources. Water, power and coal resources are all available. The hydroenergy and coal advantages are concomitant, and the water and power resources are complementary.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Guizhou Province: During 2003-2007, 14,500 new SMEs were established in Guizhou. The scale-sized SMEs realized an increase that was three times greater than before. During such five years, 31,000 private enterprises emerged, and the newly added registered capital amounted to RMB52,500,000,000, an increase of 207%. The individual industrial and commercial households increased by 122,500. The scale-sized non-public economic entities realized a 460% increase during the five years, with the annual growth rate up to 41.38%, which was 10.2% higher than the scale-sized industrial enterprises in Guizhou. The percentage of the non-public economy was enhanced from 20.1% in 2002 up to more than 40% in 2007.
