Guangdong

Guangdong, which is called “Yue” for short, is the southernmost province in Mainland China, and neighbors Hong Kong and Macao. Its provincial capital is Guangzhou.  

I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Guangdong Province
１．Guangdong is recognized as the largest economic province in China. It's main economic indicators such as total investment into fixed assets, social retail goods, balance of saving deposits of residents, total import and export and fiscal revenues rank first place in China.
２．The export-oriented economy is more developed in Guangdong. Guangdong has so far established trading relations with over 200 countries and regions globally. At least half of the top 500 enterprises in the world have investments in Guangdong and obtain better achievements here.
３．The industry system in Guangdong is more complete. The light industry and manufacturing industry is more developed. And the industry structure is continuously optimized.

II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Guangdong Province: The private economy in Guangdong is growing stronger day by day. The private enterprises and individual industrial and commercial households in Guangdong also maintain stable growth, which ranks first place in China. In 2008, the private economic entities realized an increase of RMB1,513,333,000,000, accounting for 42.4% of the GDP in Guangdong. Meanwhile, the quantity of the private enterprises maintained rapid growth, and the scale of the fixed assets investments by the private enterprises also increased to RMB425,886,000,000 throughout the year, a rise of 20.1%, which was a growth rate of 7.3% higher than that of social fixed assets investments.
