Fujian
Fujian, which is called “Min” for short, is one of the provinces that have the shortest distance to Southeast Asia, West Asia, East Africa and Oceania. Due to its special geographical position, Fujian was an important gateway for China to exchange with the world in the past, present and in the future.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Fujian Province:
1.It is a major fishing area with a large sea area in China. Because it is located in the semitropical zone and continental shelf, which is a point where the cold current and warm current meet, it is rich in various marine resources such as fish, shrimps, shellfish, algae, etc.
2.Numerous good ports. The coastline in Fujian ranks second place in China. There are many bays and islands distributed along the zigzag eastern coastline.
3.Industrial structure. The output of the three dominant industries including petrochemical, electronic information and machinery accounts for 47% of the gross industrial output value created by the enterprises with their scale of more than RMB5,000,000 in Fujian.
1.A foreign trade province. Fujiang shows a powerful development presence because of its unique regional economy strengths and all-round open-oriented economy.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Fujian Province: In 2006, more than 90% of scale-sized small and middle export industrial enterprises in Fujian were “foreign-funded” enterprises (3122) and private enterprises (1339), accounting for 63% and 27% of scale-sized small and middle export enterprises respectively, which realized the export deliver value of RMB173,891,000,000 and RMB34,536,000,000 respectively, making up 76.5% and 15.2% respectively. Among the “foreign-funded” enterprises, the enterprises invested by businessmen from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and invested by foreigners accounted for 37.5% and 39% respectively. Such enterprises with flexible operating systems effectively promoted development of industrial export in Fujian.
Learn from experience and make more explorations, upgrade CSMEF to CISMEF, better promote the development and cooperation between ChineseSMEs and those of other countries.
