Yunnan
Yunnan, which is called “Yun” or “Dian” for short, with its provincial capital in Kunming, is located on the southwest border of China, where congenial climate, harmonious atmosphere among multiple nations, poetic and scenic landscape and various folk custom forms a beautiful and moving picture.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Yunnan Province:
1.Because of abundant natural resources, Yunnan is recognized as the “Kingdom of Tropical Plants”, “Kingdom of Animals”, “Kingdom of Non-ferrous Metals” and “Home of Medical Materials”.
2.The plentiful water resource forms rich hydro resources, which is the largest energy advantage of Yunnan.
3.In Yunnan, the pillar industries are developed. And such industries as tobacco, biological resources exploitation and innovation, mineral, tourism and power are steadily being developed.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Yunnan Province: By 2005, there were 25,394 private enterprises and 1,139,500 individual proprietors, including 136,100 in the secondary industry and 1,003,400 in the tertiary industry. 677,500 of the 1,139,500 individual proprietors were registered in the commerce and industry administrations and 462,000, which had not been registered in the commerce and industry administrations, had a fixed operation place. The individual proprietors were mainly distributed in the industry (130,400, making up 11.4%), traffic transportation (241,800, making up 21.2%), wholesale and retailing (507,500, making up 44.60%), accommodation and catering (108,100, making up 9.5%), and residential service and other services (99,400, making up 8.7%).
Learn from experience and make more explorations, upgrade CSMEF to CISMEF, better promote the development and cooperation between ChineseSMEs and those of other countries.
