Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps
Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps is the only special organization that undertakes the functions of party, politics, armed force and business in China. It is the organization specifically designated in the state plan and has various economic and management authorities entitled to a city specifically designated in the state plan.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps
1. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps has a large agricultural production scale. The standardized modern macro-agricultural system has been preliminarily formed. For example, the agriculture has a high degree of mechanization and technical content, and infrastructures like the water conservation facilities are increasingly being improved.
2. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps produces different varieties of agricultural and pastoral products with high per-unit yield and good quality and high commodity rate. The per-unit yield of main cash crops rank first place in China.
3. The modern industrial system focusing on the processing of the agricultural and sideline products and assisted by the energy resources and basic industries has been established in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, which has approximately 100 sectors such as textile, foods, papermaking, leather, steel & iron, coal, building materials, power, chemical, mechanics and electronics, etc.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps: By 2008, SMEs accounted for at least 90% of the enterprises in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. SMEs’ industrial output and profit taxes realized accounted for 40% and 45% of those in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps respectively. In addition, SMEs provided about 80% of the town employment opportunities. As the SMEs are an important integral part of the national economy, they will play an increasingly important role in achieving the grand goal of “constructing a fairly well-off society” of full scale.
Learn from experience and make more explorations, upgrade CSMEF to CISMEF, better promote the development and cooperation between ChineseSMEs and those of other countries.
