Sichuan Province
Sichuan Province, called “Chuan” or “Shu” for short, with its provincial capital in Chengdu, is traditionally recognized as the “Land of Abundance” because of its developed agriculture.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Sichuan Province
1.The water and power resources reserves in Sichuan reach up to 150 million kW, which ranks second place after Tibet, and the exploitive volume is approximately 100million kW, which ranks first place in China.
2.Sichuan is a province with the most complete industrial sectors and advantageous products in West China. Electronic information, water & power, machinery & metallurgy, medicine & chemicals, foods & beverage, tourism, etc. hold an important position in China.
3.A cultural province. Sichuan culture of long standing and well established is a treasure in Chinese civilization.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Sichuan Province: By 2008, the private economic entities in Sichuan realized an increase of RMB651,576,000,000, recording 52.1% of the GDP in Sichuan, an increase of 1.9%. Looking from individual industries, the increment percentages of the private economy in the primary, secondary and tertiary industries accounting for those of the enterprises in the primary, secondary and tertiary industries were 40.6%, 60.7% and 46.9% respectively, an increase of 7.5%, a decrease of 1.6%, and an increase of 1.9% respectively.
Learn from experience and make more explorations, upgrade CSMEF to CISMEF, better promote the development and cooperation between ChineseSMEs and those of other countries.
