Shangha
Shanghai, which is called “Hu” for short or “Shen” as its alias, is recognized as “Eastern Paris”. Shanghai gradually searches out a super-city development by continuously increasing opening-up and deepening reform, and has become one of the largest economic centers in China.
I. Development Overview of the Social Economy in Shanghai:
1. Powerful economic strength. As Shanghai is striving to be a modern international metropolis, it undertakes its important tasks of “facing the world, serving our country, and interlocking the Yangtze River Delta”. Shanghai has an extremely important position and plays a major role in our economic construction and social development.
2. Superior geographical conditions. Shanghai is located right in the central part of the south-north arc coastline in China, has convenient traffic and large hinterland, and therefore, it is a good harbor.
3. Shanghai can improve its open-oriented economy by enlarging the hi-tech industry, attracting foreign investments, enhancing the industrial technology level, and innovating the methods of using foreign funds, as well as optimizing use of the foreign-capital structure.
II. Development Overview of the SMEs in Shanghai: By 2008, non-public economic entities realized an increase of RMB626,667,000,000, an increase of 11.7%, accounting for 45.7% of the GDP in Shanghai, an increase of 0.6% over 2007 (45.1%). Private and individual enterprises realized an increase of RMB311,649,000,000, an increase of 13.2%, accounting for 22.8% of the GDP in Shanghai.
Learn from experience and make more explorations, upgrade CSMEF to CISMEF, better promote the development and cooperation between ChineseSMEs and those of other countries.
