Dear guests:

The 6th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) is scheduled to be held from September 22 to 25, 2009, at Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. In order to ensure the personal and property safety of all participants, and prevent accidents from happening, on the arrival of the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, all participating delegations are requested to pay attention to the following information:

1. Security principles

The Fair takes the system of post responsibility in terms of security. All units are required to enhance management to ensure security during the Fair. Please report in due course to the Organizing Committee in case of any security problems.

2. Rules of entry

Pre-registered participants are required to enter the exhibition center with badges and valid ID certificates, such as citizen ID cards, military ID cards, travel permits for Taiwan residents (to enter and exit the mainland), home visit permits (for Hong Kong and Macao residents) and passports. Other visitors may register for entry permits with the above valid ID certificates. Poisonous, combustible or explosive articles are prohibited from entering the exhibition center.

3. Safety of exhibits and carry-on articles

a. Safety of exhibits
Exhibits should be taken into or out of the exhibition center during the regulated period of time. Valuable exhibits should be taken good care of during the Fair. Regulated exhibits should be put into lockers or fixed on the exhibition boards. Please appoint specific staff member(s) to take charge of the exhibits and count their number at the beginning or at the end of every day’s exhibition.

b. Safety of carry-on articles
Always have your valuables with you. Please take good care of your handbag. Do not put a large sum of cash or other valuables in your handbag. Certificates should be placed separately from your wallet/purse and bank cards. If you carry your wallet/purse with you, try to put it in a pocket which you are sensitive to. Do not put it in your rear pant pockets. Never put your valuables in the outer pocket of your backpack. Please pay attention to your mobile phone, U-disk, MP3 and handbag when you are talking business with others or in the toilet. Please put them away and take good care after using them. It is suggested that you buy a lock to fix up your laptop, for instance, to the exhibition board. Do not trust a stranger too readily. Never place your carry-on articles to a stranger’s keeping. Remember to lock your car and take out all valuables, such as cash and GPS, out of the vehicle or put them in a concealed position.

4. Safety in utilizing electricity and fire, fire prevention and control

a. Safety in utilizing electricity

All delegations should obey the regulations on safety in utilizing electricity in the exhibition center. Power connection should be conducted by electricians appointed by the exhibition center. Do not do it by yourself. Electrical appliances should meet safety requirements. Flex, rubber-covered wire, electric furnaces and electric heaters are prohibited. It is not allowed to cover the main power-supply. If you want to use your own power-supply, it should be inspected and must have a leakage breaker and air-switch.

b. Safety in utilizing fire

Open flames, electric welding and smoking are prohibited within the exhibition center. You must apply for a permit if you need to use fire.

c. Fire prevention and control

Booth construction materials should be fire-retardant. The construction should be conducted with a specific area. It is not allowed to take up the aisles, extend outward, or exceed the height limit. Do not place any articles on the safe access, or place exhibits, desks or chairs out of the booth. Fire-prevention facilities, such as fire hydrants or fire-extinguishers, should not be covered up or appropriated for other use.

Exhibitors shall entrust fully qualified contractors for the booth construction. The design and construction of the booth should comply with relevant regulations.

5. Transportation

Vehicles of VIPs, distinguished guests and OC Secretariat staff are to be parked at Zone A (North Square), all minibuses and buses at Zone B (Zhanchang S Rd.), other vehicles (including those with vehicle permits) at Zone C (Fengpu M Rd.).

Vehicles to be parked at Zone A please take Xingang E Rd, turn around at Keyun Rd Overpass, then go through Yuejiang M Rd to get to the Nor Square Parking Lot. Those to be parked at Zone B please take Xingang E Rd, turn around at Keyun Rd Overpass, then go through Xingang E Rd to Zhanchang S Rd Parking Lot. Those to be parked at Zone C please take Xingang E Rd, then turn to Huizhan S 1 Rd to get to Fengpu M Rd Parking Lot.

Please drive and park your vehicles in accordance with relevant regulations. Otherwise a penalty or theft may occur.
