A Complete Success of the 6th CISMEF SME Financial Forum

The 6th CISMEF SME Financial Forum with the theme of “Reaching Consensus and Joining Hands for Mutual Success” was successfully held in Shangrila Hotel on the morning of September 23, on which representatives from various organizations pledged better financial services for the sound and fast development of SMEs and construction of a socialist harmonious society.

Li Zhongyi, Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information made a 25-minute enthusiastic speech at the 6th SME and China-Spain SME Fair Summit. After 10 minutes of speech, Li talked without script about the plight of SMEs and further supportive measures of the government, which was greeted by warm applause.

On the afternoon of September 21, 2009, Li Yizhong, Minister of MII (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), met Mr Miguel Sebastián, Spanish Minister of Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade. Mr. Li and Mr. Sebastián cosigned the “Cooperation agreement in Fields of Industry, Telecommunication, and IT by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC and Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Kingdom of Spain” as well as “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between China-Spain SMEs by Ministry of Industry and Information of PRC and Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Kingdom of Spain”

Over 30% Spanish Exhibitors Comes from the Service Industry
The 6th CISMEF and China-Spain SME Fair is honored by the particiaption of more than 200 Spanish enterprises and organizations, over 30% of which comes from the service industry. 136 Spanish exhibitors expressed hope to hold introduction meetings with Chinese enterprises, thus the China-Spain SME dialogue group was set up by the CISMEF to ensure a 1:3 contact ratio between SMEs of the two countries. Meanwhile, China-Spain SME business talks will be carried out during the exhibition from Sep. 22 to Sep. 25.

The Spanish Consulate General in Guangzhou opens its Economic and Commercial Office on September 21, 2009. Vice Governor of Guangdong Province and Mr. Sebastián, Spanish Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, as well as other officials attended the ceremony.

Wang Liming at CISMEF—3 Highlights of the New Policies

Wang Liming, Director of SME Department of the MII, and Huang Changkai, Deputy Editor-in- Chief of Nanfang Media Group and Nanfang Daily, attended CISMEF “South Saloon” on September 23, 2009. The show was themed by SMEs growth environment and policies. Director Wang pointed out 3 highlights of the 29 new policies on supporting SMEs published by the national government the day before.

The summit was hosted by Yang Yang, Chief of CISMEF Bureau, and attended by Tong Xing, Executive Director of CISMEF Organizing Committee and Deputy Governor of People's Government of Guangdong Province, Wang Liming, Director of SME Department of MII, along with other government leaders.
