The SME Services Exhibition Hall, which was very popular at the last CISMEF, will be further upgraded at the 6th CISMEF. Journalists learned from the general affair office of Organization Committee of Guangdong Province for the 6th CISMEF that the SME Services Exhibition Hall will be renamed “SME Services Exhibition Hall and Modern Information Services Exhibition” at the 6th CISMEF, which will be used for showing the latest innovation achievements of modern information service industry.

The personnel assigned by the Modern Information Service Industry Association of Guangdong Province for the preparation of the Hall noted that the “Modern Information Service Industry” theme exhibition set for the 6th CISMEF is designed at further improving the structure and functions to meet the purpose of constructing the “professional and high-end” exhibition for the 6th CISMEF. He said that “This exhibition hall stresses the services to the SME, and the application of information technology is vital to the development and growth of SME”. It is reported that the show area of the SME Services Exhibition Hall and modern information service industry will reach 10,000 square meters and the 500 international standard exhibition booths will be provided. The representative enterprises of the industries will show the new breakthroughs and progress, and independent innovation achievements of the modern information service industry and its future development trend. The major information services providers will commit themselves to modernizing the SMEs with information technology so as to provide diversified solutions.

The enterprises of industrial parks in the cities and prefectures form the group to participate in the 6th CISMEF

According to the introduction, since the exhibition promotion was launched in late July, the exhibition booths of SME Services Hall and Modern Information Service Industry are in a very good demand. The 10,000-M2 show area and 500 international standard exhibition booths were booked up very soon by the relevant enterprises desirous of participating in the 6th CISMEF. Now more than 100 modern information service enterprises have resided at the 6th CISMEF.

Looking at the exhibition booth distribution layout, the most striking places of the exhibition hall are occupied by China Telecom and China Mobile, the well-known enterprises like China Unicom, Alibaba, PCCW among them also occupy the notable places. The information service enterprises in Huizhou, Zhongshan, Shantou, Shanwei, Maoming and Heyuan, etc form a group as a whole to participate in the 6th CISMEF. Some high-tech parks like Guangzhou High-Tech Development Zone, Zhuhai High-Tech Industry Park, Dongguan Industrial Park and Nanhai Software Park also organize their enterprises to participate in the 6th CISMEF.

It is worth noting that “Nanfang Daily”, following the first participation in the CISMEF last year, will once again reside the SME Service Hall, and reserve a 144-M2 exhibition booth, it will appear in special decoration. The modern information service industry of Guangdong Province keeps on growing in recent years, and plays a very positive role in transforming and upgrading the industry structure of Guangdong Province. It is no doubt that the modern information service industry has become the important growth area of modern industry system of Guangdong Province. The statistic figures of the Information Industry Department of Guangdong Province in 2008 show that the software industry revenue of the Province was RMB141.49 billion, growing by 26.1% over the year, the telecome business revenue reached 121.56 billion, accounting for 15% of national telecom business revenue and growing by 10.6%, the number of fixed phone subscribers is 357.33 million, representing 10.5% of national subscribers and increasing by 9.5%; the number of mobile phone subscribers is 839.57 million, representing the 13.1% of the national subscribers and rising by 7.1%. The figures provided by Modern Information Industry Association of Guangdong Province indicate that the information and contents service industry of Guangdong Province is rising at a fast rate, the sales revenue grow by 52.63%, the sales revenue of information technology service industry also increased by 41.39%, all these are very impressive and extraordinary achievements. The insider of animation industry judges that the market value of “Pleasant Goat” exceeds RMB1.00 billion, becoming the new rising star of modern information service industry of Guangdong Province.

The modern information service industry of Guangdong Province is on the track of fast development, the online games and animation industries are emerging, the clustering effect of software industry is growing, the construction of digital industry park and public platform scored new progress. Looking at the spatial layout, the modern information service industry is expanding from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to the other areas of the Pearl River Delta Area and the areas outside the Pearl River Delta Area. The modern information service industry is starting to grow in Maoming, Jieyang and Heyuan, etc.

Now, the netizens of Guangdong Province has risen to 455.4 million, accounting for 15.3% of the national netizens and ranking first in China. The subscribers of the mobile Internet access reached 276.9 million, representing 23.8% of the national figures and ranking the first position in China. The Internet popularity of the Province has risen to 48.2%, ranking the 3rd position in the country. The number of the people shopping online is 117.9 million, representing 25.9% of the national figure.

Su Qiling, standing vice director-general of Modern Information Service Research Institute of Guangdong Province, notes that “The information industry is accelerating its penetration into the traditional industries and SMEs”. For instance, Dongguan Dadi Communication was no more than a mobile distributor in the past, but it transformed itself into a technology enterprise through introduction of communication technology.
