The 6th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) jointly sponsored by China and Spain will be held in Guangzhou in September. At the beginning of the year, it has been written into a "joint statement" between the two countries when Premier Wen Jiabao visited Spain. Spain is the 3rd "country of honor" from Europe in this activity following France and Italy. Spain has the large number of SMEs and they are relatively developed, so we can use their advance experiences in supporting and promoting the development of SMEs, especially financing.

Preparatory work for the 6th CISMEF has already started. At the National SME Work Experience Sharing Forum held in Guangzhou in February 19, in the import speeches made by Ou Xinqian, Vice Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Wang Liming, Director General of SME Department of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, both of them put forward specific demands for the principals in charge of SME work from all provinces (municipalities) on how to do a better job to attract businesses to participant in this fair.

At present, China's SMEs have encountered unprecedented difficulties in the global financial crisis. Therefore, the 6th CISMEF is endowed with the significance meaning. SMEs need Government and the community to lend a helping hand to tide over "winter".
