Organizing Committee Secretariat’s Visit Led by Mr. Tong Xing, Vice Governor, to Belgium and Spain – Reform and Development Section of SMEs Bureau

Mr. Tong Xing, Vice Governor, Met with Ms. Gutiérrez, Trade and Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Kingdom of Spain

A Meeting Led by Mr. Tong Xing, Vice Governor, with the Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission

During October 9th-18th, relevant personnel from the CISMEF Organizing Committee Secretariat, led by Mr. Tong Xing, Vice Governor, visited Belgium and Spain, and met with Ms. Le Bail, Deputy Director General of the Enterprise and Industry of European Commission, Ms. Gutiérrez, Trade and Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Kingdom of Spain, Mr. Bonait, Foreign Trade Secretary General and Mr. Montawa, Director General of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade respectively. During such visiting, Mr. Tong Xing, accompanied by Mr. Qi Zhenli, Vice Director of the CISMEF Organizing Committee Secretariat & Director of Guang dong Economic and Trade Commission and relevant personnel from the SMEs Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the CISMEF to the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the European Union, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Spain. Relevant personnel from the Delegation also met with the Supreme Council of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Tong Xing reported to the Enterprise and Industry of European Commission the 5th CISMEF Asia-Europe SMEs Cooperation and Exchange Hall, and expressed thanks to the Enterprise and Industry of European Commission for support to the CISMEF, and wished the Enterprise and Industry of European Commission to continue to coordinate and organize the SMEs from the EU member countries to participate in the 6th CISMEF. Ms. Le Bail recognized and appreciated the CISMEF on its role in prompting development of SMEs in the world and expressed to continue to strengthen publicity and coordination and mobilize more EU member countries to participate in the CISMEF.

Mr. Tong Xing gave an outline of past CISMEFs to the officials from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Kingdom of Spain and the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade, and negotiated with Spain on the matter of the co-hosting country of the 6th CISMEF, and reached agreements. Spain expressed a desire to contribute to the 6th CISMEF & China-Spain SMEs Fair with the Chinese. Both sides confirmed that they would formally sign the cooperation memorandum when Mr. Huang Hua hua, Governor of Guangdong Province, visited Spain on October 28th.
