The 15th CISMEF Hong Kong Pavilion Inaugurated Successfully

On the morning of October 10, 2018, the Opening Ceremony of the 15th CISMEF Hong Kong Pavilion kicked off at the overseas exhibition area of International Business Promotion Area of POLY World Trade Center Expo. The event has seen an audience of about 300 people including Huang Duanlian, Vice Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Tan Jiebin, Deputy Director General of Guangdong SME Bureau, Zhang Hua, Vice President of Guangdong Federation of Industry & Commerce, Cui Shuang, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee, Wang Fuxiu, Vice Director of the Bureau of CISMEF, Guo Yukun, Executive President of Guangdong General Chamber of Commerce, Albert Tang, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong of the Government of the HKSAR, Mrs. Regina Lai, Director of Product Promotion of HKTDC, Yuen Mo, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and former Convenor of Hong Kong NPC Deputies, Tang Kam Tim, General Counsel for Hong Kong of the CISMEF, Alvaro García, Consul General of the Consulate General of Ecuador in Guangzhou, Abdul Qadir Memon, Consul General of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, and representatives from Hong Kong chambers of commerce and enterprises and other organizations.

Mr. Tang Kam Tim, General Counsel for Hong Kong of the CISMEF, briefed the guests on the participation of Hong Kong in this year’s CISMEF and introduced the latest development achievements of Hong Kong SMEs in five parts including “Hong Kong as a Manufacturer, Hong Kong as a Brand Creator, Hong Kong as an Agent, Hong Kong as a Service Provider, and Hong Kong as a Partner”. Tan Jiebin, Deputy Director General of Guangdong SME Bureau, delivered a speech on behalf of the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of the CISMEF and congratulated the opening of the Hong Kong Pavilion. He urged more exchanges between SMEs of Taiwan and the mainland via CISMEF, an effective international platform, and called for joint efforts to take the cooperation and development of both sides to a new level under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative and the policy of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
